The local people just call him Stan and how can you be more local than living in the town you grew up in and now serving as the community’s mayor? We don’t know.

Stan was raised to “give back” to his community. He spent his years doing chores around the house, going to church and being a Boy Scout…and eventually earning the honor of Eagle Scout. The truth is when the other boys were learning their knots, Indian lore and fire safety, Stan was fascinated by the buildings he found himself occupying. His church, the old courthouse and just about any structure in and around Shelby, North Carolina.

Stan was born to be an architect and fortunately for us, the certain type of architect who designs things for the community’s benefit.
